LA100: Creighton's Language Learners: Stages & Strategies (DFFT 1b)

In this introductory course, you will learn about Creighton's diverse Language Learner population and strategies classroom teachers can use to support all Language Learners through the five stages of language development.

This course is related to the Danielson Framework for Teaching (DFFT), Component 1b- Demonstrating Knowledge of Students, and more specifically, the element of “knowledge of students’ skills, knowledge, and language proficiency.” The Danielson Framework for Teaching is the tool used for educators’ coaching support and evaluations in Creighton School District

SEI101: SEI Models for Teachers

In this course, you will learn about the unique nature of planning for Structured English Immersion (SEI), also known as English Language Development (ELD), in Arizona. This course is designed for Creighton educators who teach English Learners, including content area teachers.

This course is related to the Danielson Framework for Teaching (DFFT), Component 1c- Setting Instructional Outcomes and Component 4f- Showing Professionalism.


LA102: Teaching Language Acquisition (DFFT 3c)

In this course, you will learn specific instructional strategies used throughout Arizona and the Creighton School District  designed to support English Learners. This course is specifically designed for educators who teach language Learners.


This course is related to the Danielson Framework for Teaching (DFFT), Component 3c- Engaging Students in Learning. The Danielson Framework for Teaching is the tool used for educators' coaching support and evaluations in Creighton School District.



SEI103: Arizona's English Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA)



This course provides basic information about Arizona's English Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA) and shares teacher and student preparation resources. At the end of this course, educators will be able to:

  • explain the AZELLA format and scoring system, and
  • identify and locate appropriate resources to help prepare students.

SEI104: SEI Models for Leaders

*NOTE: This course is for site and district leaders and administrators. For the teacher course, please see SEI101: SEI Models for Teachers.

This course is specifically designed for Creighton leaders. In this course, Creighton leaders will learn about the Arizona's Language Development Approach and three of the four approved SEI Models for the 2020-2021 School Year.
